Super great food - I had the wino burger, hubby had the wings, Mom had the house salad - all the food was generous in portion size, flavorful, and fresh.
Service was attentive, and fast
Drinks were strong - decent ole fashioned
The feel is friendly, welcoming, and a tad loud when to the tables are full. The bar seats are always full.
From the handicapped standpoint... Well, if you are mobility challenged, that's where the friendliness stops. From the front step to the close tables I would not describe this place as universally designed or obviously welcoming to those of us who struggle to move through the world.
I would call ahead before heading here if you have mobility issues.

If you're looking for something new and delicious I highly suggest The Local in Muskego! We had to wait a little bit and it was crowded but the service and especially the food made it all worth while. We started with bang bang shrimp, I had the steak bacon cob salad shown here, my husband had the short rib melt, my son had the wings and my daughter had the kids chicken tender meal. All were so delicious and we'll definitely be back to try more including the fish fry which smelled heavenly!

First time here. We had heard good things about the food. It's a small building, well kept up, adequate parking. Inside there is an ample bar, with high tops, regular tables, and video poker games.

We got here about 6:00 on a Monday. Most of the seats at the bar were taken, and there were plenty of open tables. What struck me first about the place was hold noisy it was. And the place wasn't even full.

We asked to get a table in the corner, but because there were only two of us, they wouldn't seat us there (however, a little later a different party of two got that table). Our server was super busy with all the tables they had. We got our drinks and food ordered fast, and efficiently, but the entire process seemed impersonal and rushed (and the noise did not help).

Ordered a special Pork Carnita 10" pizza and a Sconnie Burger (beef patties, cheddar, bacon, cheese curds, pretzel bun). Both of the food items came out in time, hot, and flavorful. Both were excellent choices. Good portion sizes, and leftovers to take home.

In total the experience was mixed. Good food, but the server and the atmosphere could have been better. If we come back again, I would hope for more quiet and more relaxed service.

Great local bar and grill with delicious food.

They have nightly specials and a good selection of food for everyone.

I had the daily special cheese steak sandwich which was served on a pretzel bun. The cheese sauce was great and the steak was very tender.

The Local is a really cute bar and grill in a quiet neighborhood next to an elementary school. I’m sure this place has its moments of rowdiness like any other bar, but that’s not the vibe they’re going for. The staff is attentive and friendly, never had an issue they couldn’t resolve with a smile on their faces. Tonight’s meal was the bang bang chicken wrap. It was pretty good! I wouldnt mind if the bang bang sauce was a bit thicker but otherwise I enjoyed it. My husband had the Nashville hot sandwich and his first bite caught him off guard I think lol. But after another bite or two he adjusted to the heat. I think he just got a feisty first bite. And the cheese curds/cubes were great. Always throw me for a sec when I get a cubed curd instead of a mini glob 🤣

Top notch experience. First time eating here and definitely not the last. Stopped in on a Friday and had a 30-minute expected wait before seating. Turned out to be about 20. Time for a round at the bar. Not unexpected and not bad for a Friday in Wisconsin. Same owners here as the Hale House, I believe, so we expected the food to be good and were not disappointed. Oddly, none of us had the fish fry (which looked good as they went by), but the short rib melt, the crispy chicken sandwich and my wine-o burger were all delicious and polished off in short order. All the staff here were superb. Attentive but not overbearing and with a great sense of humor. Beer selection was decent and prices were fair. Parking was dicey. Looks like it could get full at peak times. Was very busy the whole time we were there but it felt like they were used to it and coped well. If you're anywhere in the area and looking for a great place to eat, look no further. Highly recommended.

Great little place, kind of tucked away. Great decor!
Friday fish fry was delicious, one of the best I’ve had. Service was great and quick! Don’t forget to take a piece of their most delicious homemade carrot cake home - it’s at least two servings!
