Counter staff were very friendly. I showed up to pick up the car an hour early and had to wait a bit, but staff was very good about getting the car ready to go for me ASAP. Car had 6k miles on it and was like new. A much less expensive alternative to renting at airport. With Oslo's excellent public transportation, having a car to deal with while we were staying in the city would have been a parking hassle anyway. We took VY train from airport to Oslo central station and simply walked a few blocks to our hotel. When we were ready to leave the city, it was an easy 20 min walk to rental office. Same thing when we returned the car. Dropped luggage at hotel, dropped off car, and waled to hotel with a next day return to airport via VY train. A great rental experience!

I had a very negative experience with Budget Car Rental – Oslo, Aker Brygge. I had booked a VW ID.4 (electric), but when I arrived, I was informed that the vehicle was not available and I had to choose between two alternatives. I ended up with a fossil-fuel car, which I accepted; however, I was then unexpectedly charged extra fees for additional insurance and a winter fee—costs I was never informed about at the counter.

The service during the pick-up process was also disappointing. I was unable to use Apple Pay and was forced to manually transfer funds to a designated account, which added unnecessary stress. Furthermore, I had to drive back to pick up my additional driver because they refused to register him unless he was physically present, even though I had his driver’s license with me.

I feel that I was misled and treated unprofessionally. As a customer, I expect clear information and a friendly tone—not unexpected fees and poor service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this rental office. Please be aware before choosing to rent here.

Stygg skade på vinduet ved starten på leien. Vanskelig å forstå alle essensielle leievilkår og kvitteringen. Ca. kr 1 300 for å levere tilbake bil uten særlig med strøm.

Ikke lei bil her! Dette må være verdens dårligste service. Jeg leide bil som viste seg å ha mange skader. Jeg tok bilde av disse og viste det til person i skranke. Det ville ordne seg, sa han, så jeg skulle bare kjøre. Da bilen ble lever ble bildene på nytt vist og sendt til Budget. Alt vare ok, sa person i skranken.
Dagen etter kom det et krav på 12.000 kroner for skadene. Ringte på nytt og sendte på nytt bildene over. To dager etter kom det en ny epost med beskjed om at jeg måtte sende over bilder! Da var begeret fullt. De ignorerer deg fullstendig og later som de ikke har fått bildene. Bildene er sendt over to ganger, og vist til skrankepersonalet to ganger.
I tillegg fikk jeg et krav på bompenger på nesten 600 kroner, noe som er helt umulig. Da må jeg ha kjørt non stopp, noe jeg selvsagt ikke har gjort.
De forsøker seg på absolutt alt.

Rented an EV at Budget Oslo, Aker Brygge location for 6 days in August 2024. The car was great. Everything went well. If I am in Oslo again, will go through the same process again. Staff at this facility was of great help, helped explain everything very well. No surprises. Thank you.

Car was OK, not the one we ordered but fine. But ended up getting tons of bills after the fact which never reached me and had to sit in the phone for ages to get everything sorted out. A lot of hassle for a little joy. I’d rather pay a little extra and get the extra service somewhere else.

Elendig at de er umulig å få kontakt med i forkant av leie. Det skapte masse usikkerhet før avreise. Nettsiden klarte heller ikke finne igjen bookingen vår på nettsiden selv om vi fyller inn riktig informasjon, og etter at gjentatte forsøk på å finne informasjon ble kontoen låst().
Ellers var bilen i god stand, og det gikk raskt både å hente og levere.

The worst car rental company I have ever come across in Europe. This feedback is just to make all the people aware and think hundred times before renting car from these people. I rented a car from Rentalcars for the first time and I payed for a polestar that had a range of more than 400km. I ended up with a Volvo that couldn’t do more that 250km. I had already paid and I only added a second driver for 400NOK but apparently the extra charged came at the end. Instead of 400 plus the tolls I got an outrageous charge of almost 700NOK and I’m still trying to contact them to see what’s going on. The calls are dropping off and it’s impossible to reach them. Also the charge on the card went on a separate charge and not from the deposit which is just cancelled from what I hope because of course after many days I still don’t have it. For the drop of the car as well no one was there and next day they called me to say that they cannot find the keys and it’s my fault. Of course I was smart enough to make videos and pictures of the whole procedure because I read all the comments from other people here. I already contacted my bank to dispute the extra charges and I will also file a complaint in consumer protection department. Terrible customer service.
