Petit séjour très confortable. Accueil de Frédérique et Luc très chaleureux et sympathique. Le cadre est super et LES PISCINES agréables. Lieu idéal pour se reposer et visiter aux alentours en rayonnant dans tout le Périgord !

Domaine de Leygue sets itself up with a simple aim - providing a place for couples to get away from it all - and it achieves this delightfully. The location is in the heart of the rolling Western Dordogne countryside about 5km from the nearest town (Lalinde). The four cottages are set in five acres of well-kept grounds next to the owner's house. There are no less than two swimming pools, one for each pair of cottages. The grounds are spacious enough that you never feel that you are getting under the feet of your neighbours. Watching the wildlife (deer, wild boar and cows) in the next field in the evening really added to the rural feel.||||The cottages are comfortably furnished with a well-equipped kitchen, barbecue (including fuel) and extensive outdoor furniture for lounging around and eating on the rather nice veranda or on the grass. There is a gas hob and oven and we found we could cook and eat pretty well. The bathroom does not have a bath, but rather has a walk-in shower that was perfectly adequate for our needs.||||The living room and bedroom are each equipped with a large ceiling fan that was very effective even in the 30+ degree heat during our stay. The thick walls of the cottage also provide very good insulation.||||The owners, Geraldine and Peter, were very helpful and well organised, but I understand that they are selling the business at the end of the season, although they are not going far... they are building their retirement home on the plot next door, so hopefully there won't be any adverse impact!||||The whole site is definitely adults only. This is fine if you want a child-free holiday, but in some ways feels a shame since all the ground is ideal for children to run about in,||||The cottages are about eight minutes' drive from Lalinde which has the usual facilities you would expect in a small French town including the all-important boulangerie. Bergerac is about 25 minutes drive and Sarlat-la-Caneda is about an hour away. We also found the area to be a good base for visiting St Emilion (1hr 40mins) and Bordeaux (2hrs). We didn't try public transport, although it looked rather sparse and our hire car definitely seemed to be the way ahead.||||In summary, we had a super week and would definitely recommend it as a good self-catering base for visiting the Dordogne.

The tranquil setting of this accommodation is it's stand out feature. We wanted an escape and were not disappointed. We stayed in The Cottage which had a lovely private terrace and views. The owners were helpful and efficient in the booking and preparation before we went. Their friends were in charge of the daily running while we were there, they were lovely - friendly and helpful at all the right times and went out of their way to make our stay more pleasurable. The location is rural and a car is required to get out and about but it's worth it as the surrounding countryside is beautiful and the quality of the restaurants in the local villages is high.

Domaine de Leygue is a wonderful bolthole where you can escape the everyday. With 4 lovely cottages, each with private patios, two swimming pools, bikes and a tennis court, you can spend hours just relaxing.||||We stayed in both the Tower and the Gatehouse and loved both of them. You are in easy reach of the nearby town of Lalinde and many of the Dordogne's attractions are within driving distance.||||We loved the peace and quiet, and were made to feel most welcome by our hosts, Peter and Geraldine. The cottages have everything you need and the fact that we met other couples who have been coming here for year after year is testament to the high quality accommodation and the warm welcome you receive at Domaine de Leygue.

A beautiful, peaceful, adults only retreat in the heart of the Dordogne. Luc and Frédérique are marvellous hosts who went above and beyond to make our holiday special and unique. Great cycling and walking opportunities and the canoeing on the Dordogne is not to be missed!

This property is the epitome of its name: Peaceful France. It is stunning and I have not slept so well in a long time, as it is so quiet.||And yet, it is only a short drive to beautiful villages, markets and also not far to the St Emilion and Bordeaux wine regions. ||If you are looking for somewhere with TOTAl relaxation and privacy, everything has been thought of. Lovely clean pools and NO CHILDREN! ||The bed linen is gorgeous, our bed was divine, and every detail has been thought of: fine china, bed linen, wine and a platter on arrival etc. ||Will definitely be coming back to this gorgeous spot again.
