Dutch Springs in Pennsylvania offers a unique inland diving experience. This former quarry has been transformed into a diver's playground, boasting surprisingly good visibility (often exceeding 30 feet) thanks to zebra mussels.

While it lacks natural reefs, Dutch Springs compensates with a variety of submerged attractions. Divers can explore sunken airplanes, buses, platforms, and even a Cessna airplane, providing interesting swim-throughs and photo opportunities.

The site is well-maintained with convenient facilities, including changing rooms, air fills, and picnic areas. It's a popular training spot, so expect to encounter student divers. The varied depths cater to all experience levels, from beginners to technical divers.

However, it's worth noting that Dutch Springs can get crowded, especially on weekends. The lack of natural marine life might not appeal to everyone. Despite this, it's a fantastic freshwater diving location, offering a convenient and enjoyable experience for divers in the Northeast.

Beautiful place, but only if you are scuba diving. NO swimming allowed, unfortunately.

As an instructor this is sometimes my second home. I spend alot of time here. In the past before the water park visibility for divers would stay in the high 50 +most of the year. Now with the park it does decrease a bit but still amazing for a local diving facility. The facilities there are good as long as staff stay up on the cleanliness. Having other things to do now there like the climbing and water park is great to keep my kids excited and having fun while I teach. It is definitely worth a visit or two.

Four stars are for the waterpark, I did not have the opportunity to try the scuba diving, which is a shame, heard there is a fire truck and airplane at the bottom of the lake.
The water features are thrilling, yet very much adult oriented, expect some people in your party to leave with some minor scrapes.
The staff are highly professional and friendly.

There was so much to do there! We were there for 7 hours and could easily have stayed longer. My daughter loved the ropes course, rock wall and the zip line, as well as all the water inflatables and the kayaks. I was worried the water would be too cold, but it really didn't feel bad at all. I wouldn't highly recommend it for kids much younger than 8 or so because the fun stuff is difficult to climb up on with the water being so deep.

Went here last weekend. The actual rock quarry was really nice and being on the water was pleasant. It was a very hot day and the water was nice and cool, they also stocked it with different types of fish, including large koi. I would’ve given this place a higher rating if it weren’t for their prices. They charge $54 for online tickets and then a $3 service fee. This price would’ve been fine if the following prices weren’t required. Once we spend $57 to get onto the grounds, my group and I unpack under a temporary canopy and two lifeguards come up and explain that we have to reserve these. They mentioned a price of $50 for half day (until 3pm) or $85 for full day (until park close). I personally think this is a steep price for a white folding table and portable canopy rental. My group and I put our stuff down under a pavilion that includes 7 other picnic tables, thinking that this would be complimentary. Well it was not and the same two lifeguards came up to charge us again. I understand the first canopy because it was private with only one table and one tent but the pavilion appeared to be more communal. So we go to get a kayak and the price of that was absurd for the product/experience payoff. They charged $8 for a single and $10 for a double, each at 45mins. In addition to that fee, the dock that is there is a hard plastic and it was extremely hot. I would NEVER let a dog walk on that hot of a surface let alone people. Overall I really wanted to enjoy this place but the cost of everything really outweighed the fun of each activity. I was looking forward to staying longer but the cost of staying would be way too expensive. This place would be much more fun if their prices were more reasonable.
