Just arrived home after a lovely 3 nights spent in The Nest. This place is beautiful, and I'd advise it to anyone staying in the Lake District. It was a perfect place to stay for us, as we had everything we needed from the basics like washing up liquid, all the way to added extras (at no extra charge!) like teabags, coffee (a coffee machine), and milk in the fridge.

The Nest itself is situated centrally in Cartmel, and just minutes away from 3+ pubs, some shops, and Cartmel food shed - which you shouldn't miss for breakfast. It's simply amazing. In terms of driving, the Nest has a parking space (on a drive), and it's easy to access Cartmel from a couple of different ways in and out of the village.

Inside The Nest was extremely clean, and as I stated already, it was filled with all manner of things. There's an iron, a washing machine, a fridge, a kettle, coffee machine, oven+hob, and loads more. The bathroom was also spotless, and it was a nice shower too.

Lastly, I want to say thank you to the owners for the free cake, and prosecco! This was such a generous last 'cherry on top' touch, and was a lovely surprise.

To sum up Maggie Puddle Cottages, and in particular The Nest, treat yourself and stay here! With its beautiful surroundings, and super useful and clean interior, you'd struggle to find anywhere as nice as this for your trip to the Lake District. We'll absolutely be back again!

The Nest is a charming little bolt-hole perfect for couples. It is finished to a very high spec and has all the little extras you need for an extremely comfortable stay. The bed is AMAZING! Situated perfectly for lazy days exploring the beautiful mediaeval village of Cartmel and one of its many pubs/restaurants or if you’re feeling a bit more energetic and fancy a hike the Lakes are only a short car journey away. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back!

We are in love with everything Maggie Puddle !
Beautifully furnished with a luxury but home from home feel . Spotlessly clean , high end linens &crockery ,well stocked tea tray , fizz in the fridge ! And fabulous toiletries with a complimentary ‘ladies’ extras selection ... nice tough for when you forget something important .
Staggering distance from the village , pub and race course .... if there was a 7star option i would chooseit for Maggie Puddle ... next break away already booked xxx

Stayed here on a girls weekend with Adele. This is one of the most beautiful cottages I’ve ever stayed in. Clean and spacious with everything you need. Ample facilities to entertain and we cooked a wonderful meal. The next evening we just walked to the local pub which is minutes away. Cartmel is stunning but only go if you’re staying in this cottage!! Get the full experience. Can’t wait to visit at Christmas as I’ve heard the owner decks the halls and put up a tree!!

We had a two night break at The Nest in Cartmel which sleeps two people and is a ten minute walk max to the centre of Cartmel. The check in was arranged with the owner Daisy by email and there were no issues. There is parking at the rear for one car. The property itself is fantastic without doubt the best place we have stayed in the Lakes and much better than a B&B.
There are little extras provided like a bottle of Prosecco and a bar of sticky toffee pudding chocolate. On top of that there are tea bags and coffee. The furniture and decor are lovely and the bedding was top end and bed so comfy. Will go back definitely.
